It is the madness of folly, to expect mercy from those who have refused to do justice; and even mercy, where conquest is the object, is only a trick of war; the cunning of the fox is as murderous as the violence of the wolf.

We Survived

Honestly, We Didn't Have it Bad

Our new home area has made national news the last few days. Two storms rolled in on Sunday and Monday. Sunday's high winds in Lincoln City topped out at 50 or so mph; gusts to about 75. Monday was worse with winds has fast as 70 or so mph; gusts of roughly 100. Both of those were early morning winds as the breezes died down during the day both days (obviously on Monday).

Power went out for us Monday morning at about 12:30. I saw a flash through the sky light and heard the sound of electricity buzzing. A tree fell across the road down the hill from us and toppled over the power lines. It finally came back on about an hour ago.

Our phone is out, still. As is cell phone service. With our home phone, we can call into town and receive calls from town. We can't dial out of town or 800 numbers. I don't know if we can receive calls from out of town.

Anyway, here's the news story. And, in case you're wondering, we are Pacific Power customers.
