I Guess It Has To Happen Everywhere

the local news broadcasters

In South Dakota, they were just plain stupid. And there was an incident in which one channel's team simply refused to hear the fact and reported what they wanted to report.

In Oregon, there was this one broadcast in which an anchor cited a statistic of 50%, to which the co-anchor retorted, "That's about half." (No, that's exactly half, no "about" about it.)

I guess it was only a matter of time before the Colorado broadcaster (or one of them) would say something that would make one say, "Wait a minute!" Now, of all the local broadcasters, I like the team (especially the morning team) from KWGN, the local CW affiliate; they're loose, but serious when they need be and really seem to enjoy their jobs. However, they just plugged an upcoming story during a commercial break: "Something you have in your kitchen could suddenly explode. We'll tell you how to protect your family, Monday at 7pm." I had to check my watch. Indeed it is Thursday. So, should we refrain from using our kitchens for the next few days until we learn from you how to protect our families?

I know what they're talking about, having actually seen the report, I think on another channel. Pyrex and Anchor glassware might, rarely, explode after taking them out of the oven. If used properly, however, the danger of anything going wrong is highly minimal.
