Jesus Christ is the only man ever to have died and lived to tell about it (besides Lazarus).

Yeah. I wish I could remember how to hook up the switches on the turnouts. I know I’m missing some wires and plug ends to do it, though. I’m also missing one of the road ends for the railroad crossing, as well as the gates and lights for the crossing. Not that I really need one, but I’m watching eBay for a new crossing, too.

For the first time ever today, I opened up that locomotive that is running in the video. It has working lights on both end…or, it is supposed to. The bulb on one end burned out; I think it happened long before putting the layout together here—so, 20 or more years ago. I just ordered some replacement light bulbs off of eBay, so the train will work wholly, again.

I got some light bulbs to replace the burned out one in the locomotive in the video. Now, I have some on hand in case either burn out again. I’ve got more stuff coming, too. I’ll post more as they arrive.

So, since the last comment, I was able to get another locomotive from Germany. It came with a double slip switch. I got some light bulbs for the switches. I got Set T1, as well as some extra track. I also got some wires and plugs. Now, the layout is bigger, including an inner loop, and everything is hooked up so that I can change the switches with a press of a button.

I have’t found another crossing, and I’m not really looking for another, though every once in a while I’ll look through the listings on eBay to see if there is anything interesting (I can dream, right?) and at a good price.

Märklin Electric Train

running for the first time in 20 years

I have a Märklin electric train set (with some Primex pieces, but they're another Märklin brand). It was a set started for me by my Opa. The transformer I have for it is built for German outlets and electrical systems. A couple of days ago, I won an auction for a transformer that would work on these shores. It came today, so I hooked up my train and ran it for the first time in a long time.
