I'm Done...Through

I Just Can't Watch Anymore

The myriad changes Formula 1 is going through are souring the taste for the sport for me. I don't mind the cost cutting changes, in fact, I applaud them. I like trying to make the sport more competitive. But there are some things that have finally turned me away from it.

A Couple of Random Thoughts

and they're related

  • If the Gospel is to predominate, the Law must have its full effect.
  • The greatest enemy of modern Lutheran piety is the sweetest of Lutheran doctrines—that God works through means.

Just a Thought

and nothing more

This president's propensity to spend (even on imperfect spending bills) is creating in me a propensity not to pay my taxes. But, I'll render to "Caesar" that which "belongs to" "Caesar". Come quickly, Lord Jesus.

If This is True...

I'll Have Someone Else to Cheer For

Today may be National Signing Day or National Letter-of-Intent Day, and there may be some great news out of Gainesville, but the news that has me more excited comes from the world of Formula 1.

flickr and Me

moblogging

So, by now you might have noticed the "Latest FLICKR Posts | Mobile Camera Blogging" above. Yeah, I'm starting to "moblog" (mobile blogging). Every once in a while, I may snap a picture with my phone (current a 1 megapixel Motorola RAZR V3 from Verizon) and I'll send it to flickr to share with the rest of the world. You can comment on the pictures at that site.

Enjoy!

The Truth Comes Out

Ferrari and F1

I knew it, I knew it, I knew it. Ferrari are the preferred team among the F1 teams, and F1's CEO Bernie Ecclestone confirmed it.

What's Going On

Temperature Tolerance

In less than a week, we will be starting our second winter not in South Dakota. Only our second. Currently, however, as Autumn ends, we find ourselves in a little bit of an "Arctic blast." Temperatures have dipped into the mid 20s Fahrenheit (-5 to -3 Celsius); below freezing, sure, but not frigid like what we had experienced back on the plains.

But, like I said, this is only our second winter outside of South Dakota. Man, does it ever feel cold. I'm not as tolerant to the cold as I used to be. Is it because we now live in an area where the difference between the highest high of the year and lowest low are not as great as they are back in South Dakota? Is it because it normally doesn't get this cold (or get this cold for long) here? But, again, we haven't been here that long...

Isn't it Ironic?

Isn 't it ironic that the state that was home to the most upright and just politician this country has known is also the state known to have the most corrupt politicians in the country? It's hard to believe that Abraham Lincoln, Rod Blogojevich, and the Chicago Daleys all come from Illinois. Talk about polar opposites; gives new meaning to the phrase "opposites attract."

Be Careful What You Shop For

you just might shake your head

Genevieve was looking at some movies at Circuit City and asked me a question about something there. So, on a whim, I decided to see what they were offering on Blu-ray for under $20. I saw the usual cheap, short titles that are hardly worth that price under $20. I saw the titles that let you turn your TV into an aquarium or fireplace...faux, of course.

Then, there was this title...
