People who really know me know that I am a gamer. My preferred consoles are the Sony PlayStations. Beginning with the PlayStation 3, one can earn trophies. These trophies typically come in three levels: bronze, silver, and gold (which denote the difficulty of earning the trophy or the time it takes to earn it).

Many games also have a platinum trophy. The platinum trophy is probably the hardest trophy to earn. It is awarded upon earning every other trophy in the game not associated with downloadable content.

Normally, I don't play games to earn trophies, though trying to achieve them can be fun. I almost always don't care if a game has trophies for their online-only modes, though from time to time I will attempt to achieve them. In the process, I get closer to achieving the platinum trophy.

Sometimes, the trophy cards will show different data. The trophy counts will be the same, my trophy level will be displayed the same, but the last earned trophies will be different. The most likely reason for this is that one of the sites that generate the cards has not updated their trophy database yet to reflect the trophies that I have earned. Until those databases are updated, the cards may show generic trophy images or no trophy images at all.

The cards will also update differently. Some require input, either my request or by visitors looking at my profile at those sites (some will update with either form of input). Others update automatically every few hours or even once a day.
