Wacko Righty, Wacko Leftist

Pat Robertson has made headlines for claiming that Venezuela's president should be "taken out." He has made headlines for claiming natural and "unnatural" disasters are the result of God's anger and wrath on people for their sinfulness—including, but not limited to, the events of 9/11/2001, the Tsunami of 12/26/2004, and Hurricane Katrina. Sinfulness in general? Well, maybe, but I'm sure he's pointing to a specific sinfulness—such as that by which New Orleans can be labeled Sin City (or the Sin City of the South, giving a nod to Los Vegas).

But, Mr. Robertson is not alone in his outrageous ideas and claims. Enter Harry Belafonte. You could say that he went to Venezuela in response to Robertson's comments and lent his support for the president there, over and against the president of his own country (because, of course, President Bush seeks to "take him out"). On that trip, Belafonte labeled Bush, "the world's greatest terrorist."

He didn't stop there, though. Now, he continues his alarmist agenda likening the Department of Homeland Security to the Gestapo of Nazi Germany.

This just goes to show that both sides (ahem, all sides) are filled with their own version of wackos.
