Hee Hee Hee Hee Hee, White Out!
Finally...Maybe
You may recall from this entry that we had a blizzard here in November (November 28, to be exact). Well, the following day I tried digging out of the house using a little 3 hp, single-stage snow thrower from my mother-in-law (one that she had and gave to us since she wouldn't use it anymore). It broke. Literally. The work was too much and the chute shot off.
Well, thanks to gifts from both of our parents, we were able to buy a new snowthrower; one with a whopping 8.5 hp engine, dual-stage, and 26-inch clearance. We got a 5-gallon gas can and filled it up. Then, nothing. Oh I used it once or twice to clear the little bit of snow that we got since—an amount that could have been cleared with just as much effort and in just as much time using a 1 man-power snow thrower (a shovel).
It stayed that way for months, at times actually getting warm enough to melt almost everything that fell in November. So, I emptied what was left in the gas can into the car (having filled the snow thrower's tank once already).
And today, the heavy snow is falling. One man at church said he heard it was supposed to fall at a rate of about 2 inches per hour. The winds are supposed to pick up tonight and blow the snow around. So, we should have a pretty nice drift on our driveway again, a la November 28.
Is this because I emptied the gas can into the car?
