Lightning Win the Cup!
at least, that's what they did a year ago, and they are still defending
Are you ready for another "I Miss Hockey" entry?
You're not? Too bad!
It was a memorable game 7, to say the least. After what looked like a goal or no goal (difficult to tell) in game 6, the Flames-Lightning series of last year moved back to Tampa, where the Lightning won their first Stanley Cup with a 2-1 victory.
Where does that leave us now? Desperately wanting to watch the Stanley Cup finals. But, because of some jackasses in New York and Toronto, Lord Stanley's Cup will not have names etched on one of its rings in 2005. Some higher-up, money-loving lawyers have left the hockey fans of North America with an empty feeling. Something isn't right. Something is amiss. There is no Stanley Cup Playoffs. All is not right with the world. The universe is out of kilter.
Okay, maybe I'm taking it too far. That doesn't mean we're not angry with Gary "Ratface" Bettman and Bob "Baby Face" Goodenow. For some, the angst is indescribeable.
Oh well, at least Tampa Bay can say they are two-year defending Stanley Cup Champions.
